It's been a long time, so I went to see Fandom_Wank just for old times' sake.

And I cannot believe this. People are *still* wanking about Harry Potter!?

Yes. I realize people are still wanking about the *original* Star Trek, but....it's incredible how the power of HP wankage still goes strong. I mean, last I checked, the fandom seemed to have slid down to something approaching normalcy? By which I don't mean 'normal-sized', but still, haven't most people moved on?

Apparently I am wrong. Oh well. I am a fickle man of the world. Hetalia's been staying outrageously long as it is.

I'm totally unsurprised. Fandoms become wanky when they are large. Even if it has diminished a bit, HP is still large, and still wanky.

See, I don't really get this because I tend to move from fandom to fandom quite fast. I have fandom ADD, dammit, so it's really just odd that HP would still have the momentum to create shitstorms every other day of the week.

It would probably make sense if I stay in fandoms longer and actually see what they do in the latter half of their lifespans. But.

It's not so much momentum, as how many people are there. With a lot of people you start getting echo chambers and also, simply by the law of averages, some real nuts.

LOL, it seems you've been in Hetalia a long time though. XD

I suppose I should chalk that up to never appreciating the batshit insane size of HP, then. I've never gotten *that* into the books, I'm afraid, but certain fics beckoned to me from time to time.

A year and a half! Very long by my standards, although it still hasn't beat out FMA yet. It probably taps into my latent love for history, so it's staying a while.

Someone posted in Fandom!Secrets that FW isn't as great or properly wanky as it was before. I haven't visited in a while, but most of the wank I saw was Twilight, Twilight, Twilight.

No, it's not. Posts are spread so thin now. *sigh* Those days when you can go to FW for your daily entertainment.....the days of the great wank sagas....

Twilight itself causes my eyes to bleed out of their sockets, I dare not even think of the fandom. Mostly I try to pretend it's one of those immensely popular books that do not have fandoms for an inexplicable reason.
