............It really annoys me when people want to translate things without having a clue what they're really doing and know that they don't have a clue, but want to go ahead with it anyway. What do they want? Spreading love and joy, even the tiny amount that they could? Internet cookies? Recognition? Practice?

It is annoying. Half hearted translations that use a dictionary for almost every word are no good. Grammar needs to be understood. I know I'd love to translate some stuff, to pay back everyone who has translated stuff that I've read, but I wish to do so properly. When I know the language. I need to be able to translate it for myself first.

Possibly a mix of all those, but I'd say if they're that gung-ho about something they're not up to then they just want the attention. I'm not saying I'm ~THE BEST~ translator, but good god at least I can put together sentences without having to refer to a dictionary.
